Pampering your Feet and Nails with a Good Pedicure
It’s rather unfortunate that many people forget to give their feet the proper care. The feet is the most used body part seeing that these support the human body while standing up, and while walking or running. It carries the entire weight of an individual’s body. If the feet are not given the right amount of care, it could lead to aching feet, brittle nails, and sore arches. However, one of the best ways to care for the feet is to get habitual pedicure sessions. More than giving the nails the proper grooming, it will also get rid of the ill-effects of feet abuse.
You will instantly feel better after getting a good pedicure, simply because your feet will look much nicer and neater. Having this foot and nail grooming session will be a great treat during a lazy weekend or right after a very busy weekday. It doesn’t matter where you choose to have your pedicure- whether in a salon/spa or right at the comfort of your own home. The essential thing is you gave your feet the attention it needs.
Pedicure treatment: Indulge your feet wherever you feel most comfortable
1. Find a place where you can lean back and relax as you have your feet treated. If you can’t find a footbath machine, a large basin will do. You will have to fill the basin with water and Epsom salts. Allow your feet to rest and to absorb the healing effects of the water and the salt.
2. After soaking your feet, gently remove them from the basin and use a soft towel to absorb the dripping water. Cut your toenails carefully, and use a nail file afterwards.
3. For feet softening, it is important to use a foot scrub. It is typical for the feet to develop hard skin, calluses, corn, and overly dry heels. Foot scrubs are available in health stores and beauty shops. After rubbing the feet with the scrub, you can soak the feet again in the water. When drying afterwards, make sure to dry the skin connecting the toes as well.
4. When the feet are already dry, a moisturizing treatment then follows. Place a good amount of foot lotion or cream to the entire feet, including the hard skin on the ankles and heels.
5. You can now apply a good nail polish on your nails. The choice is up to you; you must find a shade that looks best with your feet. However, if you don’t fancy toenail polishes, then you can leave you toenails unpainted.
If you plan to have your pedicure outside your home, like in a pedicure salon for example, make sure that you have made an appointment already before leaving the house. Salons may have a difficulty accommodating all their customers, and may not be able to serve those who show up without prior notice. If you want to get a pedicure, don’t wear closed shoes. You will have too much trouble removing them and slipping back into them after you have had your pedicure treatment. Devote ample time for your treatment, and this should not be less than an hour.
